Ethicon Inc., a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Laboratory Tech I- Lab- 1st shift (1 of 3) to be located in San Angelo, Texas.
The Ethicon business offers a broad range of products, platforms and technologies-including sutures, hemostasis products, surgical staplers, trocars, energy devices and synthetic mesh devices-that are used in a wide variety of open and minimally invasive surgical procedures. Specialties include support for treatment of colorectal and thoracic conditions, women's health conditions, hernias, cancer and obesity. The Laboratory Tech I is responsible for:
â¢ Assures optimum control of quality so that raw material and/or finished products conform to existing requirements, standard operation procedures, and governmental regulations and adheres to all Quality Systems Requirements (QSR) and ISO standards.
â¢ Performs raw material, in-process and/or finished goods tests and reviews.
â¢ Able to work in an environment with chemicals safely.
â¢ Inspects, tests and/or evaluates the precision and accuracy of products, and/or testing equipment.
â¢ Monitors and reviews environmental charts and/or numeric data.
â¢ Performs chemical and sterility release of product.
â¢ Performs sterility, environmental, moisture, residual ethylene oxide, and triclosan testing.
â¢ Prepares media and performs quality assurance control checks per USP.
â¢ Investigate and write out of specification reports.
â¢ Read and interpret results, performs trend analysis as required.
â¢ Recommends, amends and analyzes sampling procedures, test methods, standard operating procedures, and/or inspection measures in order to lean processes or simplify current practices.
â¢ Meets functional area goals and yearly strategic imperative project timelines.
â¢ Cross-trains to support other functional areas.
â¢ Utilizes Standards of Leadership and the Credo.
â¢ Performs other work-related duties assigned by Team Coordinator and/or Facilitator.
â¢ Follows current compliance regulations and standards and all federal regulated programs.
â¢ Ensures safe working conditions and practices in the department.
â¢ Conducts training for operators and technicians
â¢ High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
â¢ Associateâs Degree, Bachelorâs Degree, or other advanced degree preferred.
â¢ Experience in a highly regulated, GMP manufacturing environment required.
â¢ Exposure to FDA and ISO requirements highly preferred.
â¢ Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of programs and computer systems required.
â¢ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
â¢ Good organizational and self-motivation skills required.
â¢ Strong adherence to quality, attendance and performance standards required.
â¢ Statistical and analytical problem solving required.
â¢ Must be able to work as a team player with Operations Associates/Facilitators, Engineers, and Quality Assurance/Control Associates across multiple business partners and provide a high degree of customer service.
â¢ Must be detailed oriented and be able to calculate time increments.
â€¢ Must be able to speak, comprehend, and write English.
â¢ Must be flexible with a variety of working situations.
â¢ May require up to 10% travel.
â¢ Associate must maintain an acceptable level of attendance and be able to support a continuous run manufacturing operation (24/7). Standard schedule is rotating 4 days on and 4 days off, 600am-430pm, but may require some flexibility as needed by the business.
