Job Description The Controller directly supports the day to day accounting activities including the cost accounting and reporting of manufacturing variances accuracy of standard costs and inventory valuation in this manufacturing environment The Controller will also play a key role in the month end close process in developing budgets forecasts and contributing to financial process improvements Please submit a full resume and cover outlining your experience as it specifically relates to this role We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in costing within a manufacturing environment RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS May include some or all of the following responsibilities Ensure the overall propriety of all accounting functions Support manufacturing operations financial analysis and reporting by reviewing all aspects of plant operations Confirm plant compliance with operations related internal controls requirements Assist with preparation of Financial Statements focus on Inventory Cost of Goods Sold and all plant expenses Responsible for accuracy of inventory portion of Balance Sheet Coordinate cycle counts and lead physical inventories Monitor and improve internal controls as necessary Cost watchdog Lead local team effort to maximize cost reductions Support Plant Manager CI and others by providing meaningful financial analysis of operation Participate in the creation of new policies procedures to improve the overall internal controls environment Assist with preparation of Forecasts Budgets and financials for Long Range Planning Prepare presentations as needed Participates in ad hoc analyses as required Assists with internal and external audit requests communicates with auditors as needed Local DCOA contact Abilene Safeguard compliance with financial policies US GAAP local statutory regulations internal control and Sarbanes Oxley Performs additional requests as required QUALIFICATIONS Academic Experience Credentials Certifications Bachelor s degree in Finance or Accounting required Master s degree in Finance Accounting or Business desired CPA CMA a plus Minimum years of finance or accounting experience in a manufacturing environment Valid driver s license to accommodate the need for travel Specialized Skills Knowledge Ability Superior analytical skills with an ability to apply solid reasoning Must be action oriented organized and possess strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across all levels of management Comfortable digging into potential situations problems and finding answers Advance skills in MS Excel and other data management systems Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel and development and analysis of cost standards Ability to plan execute and deliver on projects in a timely manner and to multi task on varying projects and initiatives with deadlines that may shift during the course of the project We will contact those candidates with the necessary background and if so you will be asked to submit an electronic application via our company career portal Company Description Check out our full corporate website at BWEN com
